Personality: Terezi’s personality can be broken down into a few main points:

1) She’s a troll. She has seen some shit. And not seen, I guess. Basically, what you need to know is that Trolls sure are weird. No, they really are. Not even kidding. Being a troll means she is significantly more desensitized to violence than your typical 14 year old human and hey culture clash is awesome.

But she’s also a mega internet troll. One of the few successful ones out of all the trolls.

Each Troll has the ability to talk to any of the main characters during any point in their timeline. Some Trolls decide to troll all over the place, like Karkat with his crazyass Trolling-Backwards theme. But Terezi claims that Weird Time Stuff hurts her head-- she trolls in a very time-linear fashion.

When trolling John, she acts generally very sketchy and rude. Once he starts the game, at some point she convinces him to skip ahead, bypassing most of the Riddle Shit one is supposed to do, and to go fight the Denizen before it wakes up. This results in him dying, creating an alternate timeline where, after 4 months, Dave gets fed up and goes back in time, telling her to back off. She explains how she knew John wouldn't die, because she can see his whole timeline and she knew he didn't die there. BUT, she expresses guilt when she finds about the Weird Time Stuff, since the Dave from the doomed future is Incredibly Pissed.

She moves to Rose (who she declares is a "H4T3FR13ND"), but most of her interactions happen with Dave. Once they start the game, she becomes surprisingly helpful to him. In fact, their constant dorkiery causes Karkat to summon Dave and John into a chatroom and warn them to stop flirting. Enchanté. It doesn't work (surprise). Bullshit happens, and sometimes she helps Dave troll Karkat for the lulz. It is ridiculous and wonderful.

2) She’s smart. She is obsessed with the law, and her room is covered in all sorts lawbook piles that she reads all the fucking time. Before SGRUB happened, she was determined to be a legislacerator, like her ancestor Redglare. A legislacerator is like a bounty hunter, lawyer, and executioner all in one. Best goal in life ever, and it means she is obsessed with justice.

The second point in her smartness favor is the fact that she’s also blind. Coming from a race that finds any and all reasons to cull the weak, the fact that she’s survived means she knows how to take care of herself, and she knows how to thrive. But that’s not all, because Terezi also grew up without a lusus. Lusi are basically massive monster parents that trolls have, and often times, if a child loses their lusus, they are either culled or don’t survive. In fact, in order to leave the caves where troll grubs face various trials as offspring, they almost need a lusus. (Un)fortunately, Terezi’s lusus is a dragon that hasn’t hatched by the time her story starts. So that means she raised herself, an already incredibly difficult feat, but also was blind.

Also, her past (pre-SGRUB) emphasizes how smart she is. Together with Vriska, the two formed the Scourge Sisters, a absolutely terrifying duo who kicked ass and took names at FLARP (like LARP, but with more death). Vriska, when reminiscing, comments that:

And a little while later:

AG: But it was still a lot of fun. Watching you dismantle huge teams of Flarpers with nothing 8ut politics and head games.
AG: Without even using any special powers! Wow.

Unlike her partner in justice, Terezi didn’t need any psychic ability to control her opponents or make them do what she wanted. This skill carries into Homestuck and Hivebent, and later manifests itself through her title as the Seer of Mind. Before beginning the game, after Vriska crippled Tavros and killed Aradia, through manipulation and use of her bro Sollux’s hacking skills, Terezi was able to make

, an omniscient being, fuck Vriska’s shit up. In return, Vriska blinded her, but it was still a pretty smart plan.

explains Terezi’s role as the Seer of Mind:

A Seer would support her allies in battle not with her weapons, but her vision. She would sift through dross of her comrades' poor tactical inclinations and examine the grim consequences. A Seer would not charge into the fray headlong but direct it as a conductor with a baton. She would have the sight to eschew the obvious gambits, and find the path to victory disguised cleverly as setback, or even imminent defeat. She would behold the fortunes of friends and foes in totality, and appraise the contrivance of luck itself. She would know its mines were not to be plundered, but simply explored and charted carefully.

We see this in how Terezi was able to work with Jack on Operation Regisurp (to exile the Black Queen) while, at the same time, working with

wman

(the Black Queen hundreds of years in the future) and Vriska to exile Jack. A beautiful double-reacharound of betrayal and brilliant planning. She was able to measure her enemies and allies abilities and skills properly, and with that knowledge, could create and pull off such plans.

We also see this when she meets Dave. After helping him along in the game, she eventually gets Dave to cheat the system via time travel and make tons of money in his planet’s stock exchange, send her that money to her in the past, which makes her take notice of him before they ever meet, which is how the trolls find out about the humans in the first place.

Hands down, Terezi is the smartest troll. However, she can be incredibly foolish and tends to stick with her initial ideas, regardless of how absurd they may be. During Gamzee’s killing spree on the Veil (aka HORRORSTUCK), Terezi assumed Vriska was the culprit for all the bodies she found. Her explanation for Feferi’s corpse and the bitemarks she found on her neck were explained by Vriska randomly developing a taste for blood, and even though she pointed out what a stupid idea it was, she stuck with it. Gamzee planted some pretty weak evidence around Equius’ and Nepeta’s bodies indicating Vriska as the murderer, and Terezi completely bought it. Hussie mentioned that Gamzee’s chucklevoodoos could have been at work, but we don’t really know what the fuck a chucklevoodoo does or how it works, so whatever man. We do know Gamzee was trying to kill all the trolls, and he couldn’t take Vriska on by himself. So he got Terezi to do it for him. Ehhhh man idk. Even after Vriska confronted Terezi on how stupid those ideas were, and that she had only killed one of their friends, Terezi was still alight with JUUUSTICE and carries through with her plan.

She then regrets it for a very, very long time afterwards.

3) She’s blind. Terezi wasn’t born blind (we can all thank Vriska’s crazybitchiness for blinding her), but it’s had a massive impact on her life. When she went blind, she also woke on Prospit—the moon of Skaia where her dreamself lives. That means, before SGRUB even started, she was awake on Prospit. There, her lusus (the one that never hatched) spoke to her in her dreams and taught her to see like a dragon. Through taste and smell, she could get a blurry picture of the world (taste is stronger than her smell). But she also found that she could smell/taste other things, too. For example, if you lie enough to her, those lies "build up," and she can smell them. Her first conversation with Dave involved 3 lies: Dave was a girl, he was a "north american hollering phallus baboon," and his name was "shaggy 2 dope." Let's all just take a moment to love Dave.

Okay, we're good? Good.

After the third lie, she could tell that Dave was a "big joker" and that couldn't possibly be his name. He instantly replaces "shaggy 2 dope" with "Ben Stiller." It takes Terezi a little bit longer to realize that one was a lie also, but when Dave finally says his name, she can instantly smell the truth. She still calls him a holler baboon, though. 8|

She also claims to smell other emotions, like Karkat’s rage.

Terezi is, surprisingly, ridiculously glad to be blind. Dreamselves are typically whole versions of the character, undamaged by life experiences. Vriska is missing an eye and an arm, but her dreamself is whole. However, Terezi’s dreamself is still blind, which she explains to Karkat, is because she likes being blind. When talking to Vriska, she further emphasizes this point:

Eventually, after a year on their meteor hurtling through space-time bullshit (oh, am I using the word “meteor” wrong? DEAL WITH IT, NERDS), she meets Aranea, who is Vriska’s ancestor from a universe that was scratched in order to create Terezi’s, which means in Aranea’s reality, Vriska was her ancestor. .....Shut up this is Homestuck.

Aranea offers to heal Terezi:

AG: This is what I did as a Sylph of Light. Helped people see things.
AG: I could even perform the feat literally, if you wanted.
GC: WHO4 WH4T?
AG: It's up to you of course.

Terezi declines, though:

4) She cares about her friends. You might have noticed the surprising amount of cobalt blue throughout this app. There's a reason for this. Terezi and Vriska are two sides of the same coin, ridiculously similar but so fucking different that they clash. While they both care for their friends, they do it in different ways. Vriska attacks them and helps create Jack, trying to make them strong. Terezi helps them. She guides them through the game as the Seer, but is also pretty friendly. She RPs with Nepeta, encourages Tavros to believe harder in his imaginary friend because that will make him less fake (trollingly), trolls Karkat endlessly-- she gets along with most of the other characters. She teases, but doesn't put it too far, and knows when to back down most of the time (like with Feferi in Alterniabound).

However, her story in Homestuck is about someone who is very self assured losing that confidence. The first strike against it is when she manipulates Dave into creating a split timeline-- where one Dave should kill the other in order to make him into a god. Dave, understandably, can't do it. Jack does it for him, and while she was confident in her plan before the murder took place, afterwards, she's incredibly distraught (absconding from the main troll room in tears).

She also starts out very confident in her abilities of understanding people and getting into their minds, but when she kills Vriska in order to save herself and Karkat (she saw a doomed timeline where Vriska flies off to fight Jack, but in doing so, leads Jack straight to them. Even if Vriska could have won against Jack, it meant that everyone else was going to die), she starts to question herself. The guilt of killing her ex-best friend manifests itself into the thoughts of "why were those the only two options-- kill her and live, or don't kill her and everyone minus her dies," "why didnt I keep a better eye on Vriska and stop this from happening in the first place," etc etc. By the time she meets Aranea a year later in a dream bubble, it's clear this guilt has been eating at her for a very long time.

5) She is just really, really, really fucking weird. Terezi Pyrope is probably the weirdest motherfucker you will ever experience. As I mentioned before, she sees through taste and smell, but unfortunately for every thing else in reality, that means she walks around, sniffing and licking everything? People included. She also likes colors. A lot, and ends up eating her chalk all the time. Or drawing shit and licking it forever.

Since she grew up in a tree alone, she was all about RPing and FLARPing. After quitting FLARP due to Vriska being a bitch (crippling Tavros, killing Aradia, finding out that Vriska killed all of their opponents behind Terezi's back, not just the guilty ones), she started RPing with herself and her stuffed animals. Her hive is surrounded by plush dragons hanging from nooses, and it is VERY INTIMIDATING!!!!!

She can also be a massive creep, like during her first conversation with John (where she threatened to slit his throat and smell him as he died), but is genuinely very playful. Her relationship with Dave over shitty comics is proof of that.

Powers & Abilities: She's completely blind; however, before her Lusus hatched, it taught her how to "see" via smelling and tasting-- a new way to view the world.

After beating the game (or as close to 'beating' it as they could get), she was a super high level, so that means she's strong. She uses her seeing cane as a weapon, but has upgraded it to be equipped with swords and junk. Hell yeah.

She's also got a Sylladex, which is a crazy ass way to catalog all the crap she picks up over time. Her fetch style is "Scratch and Sniff," where she just scratches at the Captchalogue Cards, sniffs to figure out what they are, then uses them to get the item. It's, like, super confusing. Whatever, DON'T QUESTION IT.

As a player of SGRUB, Terezi is the Seer of Mind. Which means:

Basically, she can see all the results of possible courses of action, especially those that lead to doomed timelines or failures. She is also incredibly good at reading people and understanding their emotions/mental states/whether or not they’re lying/etc.

For the purpose of Discedo, I would like her to keep her ability to smell and taste colors/lies/feelings/whatever, mainly it is more of a learned trait as opposed to a magical one/something only for her. However, if you would like them damped, that's okay too.

What items will they be bringing with them to Discedo? Lots of chalk, her swordcane, and the clothes on her back.

Third-Person Sample:

Terezi steps off the blueberry-snow tree branch onto what she assumes is the bubblegum moon, but realizes something instantly is wrong as soon as her foot touches soil. The hazy quality of the Dream Bubbles, where every thought, memory, emotion, anything can change or influence the setting, is suddenly too real and too physical for her senses. She feels warm sun on her skin (not burning but still so incredibly wrong wrong wrong wrong) and stumbles. Catches her balance on a crumbling building and scrapes the palm of her hand. At the very least, the resulting blood is something familiar, so she cups the injured hand around her nose and inhales. Licks a little, just to get any debris out (and fuck yes it tastes just like awesome).

It takes her a while to regain her bearings, but eventually Terezi is trailing her lips along the building, sniffing and licking for confirmation. Certainly not troll made—so neither her nor Aranea’s memories. Maybe one of the humans? But…

It’s old. Decrepit. Rotting from disuse. She had watched enough of Dave’s life to know this wasn’t his. She thinks briefly of FLARPing in old ruins with Vriska, but quickly pushes it from her mind (paradox space didn’t want them to meet again, so why would it suddenly change its mind?). With a shatter containing more force than necessary, the teal-blood breaks the nearest window with her cane. Fucks given are minimal, and curiosity is only increased. Terezi knocks out the rest of the glass and pokes her head into the building.

“Hello? Heellllooooooo!!” Sweet baby human Jegus, it smells like shit in there. But her sharp nose doesn’t detect movement or life or anything besides gross, so she loses interest quickly. The troll throws a rock in there for good measure, a little justice for the place smelling so shitty. It’s an offense to everything colorful and delicious in this world and needs to be punished. Bluh.

She’s just about to move on when her cane knocks something and sends it skittering—something that, by the sound of it, is obviously not a rock. What’s a lost girl to do but follow? So Terezi chases after it, on her hands and knees, led by her nose like some woofbeast. Liquorish darkness, starlight and soda screen with a faint glow, all needles and spice; technology. Within seconds, she’s snatched up her newfound communicator for investigation, tongue and fingers pressing in at every angle, button, and crack. It doesn’t take long until she realizes there’s a network, and even less time to change the font to spearmint teal and start typing.
